Ryan Yardley is back on track in Florida this weekend as the Porsche Carrera Cup North America takes to the Miami International Autodrome in support of Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix.
The event offers another opportunity for Yardley to impress on a global stage, with the Cantabrian finding form in the second round of the championship at Long Beach, which was run in support of IndyCar.
A fifth and a seventh at Long Beach saw the Kiwi shoot up the championship leaderboard into the top 10.
With the Carrera Cup having only one qualifying session, Yardley will be focussing on getting the most out of qualifying – “Our race pace is good enough to run up the front, so for us, it’s just about maximizing qualifying and trying to understand this car a little more, like what it takes to maximise a new tyre.”
Qualifying in Miami takes place on Sunday morning (NZ Time), followed by a 40-minute race. Race 2 is on Monday morning – 📺 Streaming live on https://porschecarreracup.us
